15Suspension of play
- Immediate suspension of play: one prolonged note of the siren. Players may neither start a hole nor continue play, and the position of balls in play must be marked.
- Suspension of play: three notes of the siren, repeated. Players may either stop play after marking their ball or finish the hole they are playing.
- Resumption of play: two short notes of the siren, repeated.
16Pace of play
All players must play without undue delay. Each player or group is responsible for keeping an appropriate pace. If a group is playing more slowly than the group behind and there is a free hole in front, it should invite the group behind to play through.
All players must follow the instructions of the Tournament Officials and of the representatives of the course being played.
When a group finishes a hole more than five minutes after the designated time and is more than two (theoretical) shots behind the group in front, the group receives a verbal warning. A second breach is penalised with the general penalty (2 strokes for each player in the group) on the hole where it occurs. A third breach results in disqualification of all players in the group.
